What dog food is the best?

I know Science Diet and Purina arent the best ones(other posts) but I would like to know a good dog food thats organic and healthy for dogs. I live in Las Vegas so something in the states please. Thanks.
I have a chiuhaua mix. He is still 4 to 5 mo. old. He is average size. Hope this gives in details.

Science Diet and Purina, neither one are good dog foods. Any dog food you can find at your local grocery store pretty much sucks. You need to be looking for foods that have no by-products in them, with the first ingredients being some form of meat and then maybe a meat meal. The food should not have corn, wheat, or soy.

Some good brands are Innova, Taste of the Wild, Chicken Soup brand dog food, Canidae, Wellness (be careful, gives some dogs diarrhea), or my personal favorite that seems to work best for my dog, Blue Buffalo.

Solid Gold isn’t bad, but be careful the protein content is really high (40%), and I wouldn’t recommend going over about 30-35% protein especially in a small dog… too much protein can cause kidney problems and isn’t good for your dog either.

To answer your question, the best in my opinion for a little dog like yours would be either Chicken Soup or Blue Buffalo.

**Information about wellness food causing diahrrea can be found here (I think it’s because the food is completely grain free, but I’m not sure). It is a great food, good quality, too…. just didn’t work for my dog or many others: http://www.rateitall.com/i-22541-wellness.aspx?&p=0&s=5
